March Manicure Madness, Day Nineteen: African Queen

This is my first time to try out sticky nail art guides! Let’s dive right in, shall we?

I received Essence African Queen nail art guides as a birthday present, last August – yup, I’ve been procrastinating since then. Basically, they’re stickers with cut-out bits. You stick them to your nail (on top of your already dry manicure) and paint over them in a contrasting colour. Peel them off when the polish has had a few minutes to set, and ta-dah! Easy, tiger-print nails. No mess, no fuss. These definitely did what they said on the tin.

It’s quite lovely, isn’t it? I was mightily impressed. I used Essence Colour & Go 92 Better Late Than Never as the base colour, and Essence Multi Dimension 20 Fatal to paint on top of the guides. I would say that for the top colour, you’re best using a polish that is opaque in one coat. You can’t do two coats of polish over the guides, otherwise they will stick to the nail, and sure you can’t be doing that.

As an adieu, here’s a picture of my rabbit, Aurelia, chilling on my lap of a Friday afternoon. Have a great weekend, readers!

  1. They look awesome! And pretty easy to use so even I could attempt them!
